Starting today, the exclusive broadcast of “Mohsen Sazegara’s Memoirs” begins on Abdi Media; an audio, first-hand account in which Mohsen Sazegara, in his own voice, recounts his life from his earliest childhood years to the present.

This series is not merely the story of a political activist’s life; it is a personal account of an important part of Iran’s contemporary history. From childhood and the family and school environment, his first political concerns and activities and his university years, to his trip to the United States, student activities, going to Paris and being present in Neauphle-le-Château in the months leading up to the 1979 Revolution; and then his return to Iran and his account of the turbulent days after the Revolution and his role in the process of forming the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

In the continuation of this series, Sazegara will talk about his presence within the government structure and his various responsibilities, his gradual distancing from power, entering the reformist press, security crackdowns, imprisonment and hunger strikes, and finally leaving Iran and starting his life anew abroad; a journey that transformed a young revolutionary over several decades into one of the critics of the Islamic Republic.

“Sazegara’s Memoirs” is a firsthand account; of what he saw, what he did, what he believed, and what he reconsidered over time.
