Khatami: The least expensive way in the current situation is for the government to change its approach

  Seyyed Mohammad Khatami in a meeting with the members of the General Assembly of the Reform Front of Iran:

"Today, the country is in the most unprecedented crises of contemporary history, and if the approaches to governance, both domestically and in foreign policy, are not reformed, not only the governance system, but also Iran and the nation will face serious threats.

Throughout history, Iran has never surrendered and digested the invaders;  But now the internal and external pressures have accumulated so much that it is feared that this "Tanavar tree" will suddenly fall.

Even when our people were dissatisfied with the performance of the system, they came to the scene against the aggression of the enemy;  The expectation was that they would be appreciated, more prisoners would be released and the pressures would decrease, but on the contrary, the pressures on intellectuals, media and civil activists have increased.

I still believe that the only and least expensive way is for the government to change its approach and even reconsider some red lines when the interest of the nation and the country requires it;  This in no way means surrendering to the alien.

Livelihood problems have made people's lives difficult;  These problems won't be solved overnight, but some small steps—like fixing the Internet and filtering problems—can be promising.  "The president made a promise earlier, now it is expected that they will accelerate this promise."
