کاوه مدنی: ایران وطن من است / خوش‌شانس بودم سر از اوین درنیاوردم

Kaveh Madani, former deputy of the Department of Environment.

Kaveh Madani, former deputy of the Department of Environment:

"Today, many of the narratives regarding various environmental issues are the result of research and activism by many specialists and individuals like myself, who have acted out of concern and without any expectations.

My return to Iran increased my capacity for assistance and interaction, and with empty hands and the collaboration of many concerned individuals, we were able to make an impact in a short period. However, some in a security agency involved with the government could not tolerate my presence, which led to the surrounding controversies, and I was driven out of Iran. Fortunately, I was lucky not to end up in Evin like other environmental advocates.

Even after my forced departure, I have continued to strive to have an impact on environmental issues in Iran and to do what I can. Certainly, the nature and extent of my collaboration and influence today differ from when I was responsible in Iran and even before that, when I had the opportunity to travel. However, Iran is my homeland, and like all Iranians around the world, I have the right to be concerned about it." / Ensaf News
