The death of the head of the national police following the explosion at the Prime Minister's Office.

On the same day, Brigadier General Houshang Vahid Dastjerdi, the head of the national police of the Islamic Republic, also died from injuries sustained in the explosion at the Prime Minister's Office on the 8th of Shahrivar 1360 (August 30, 1981).

In the explosion at the Prime Minister's Office, Mohammad Ali Rajai, the President, and Mohammad Javad Bahonar, the Prime Minister, had been killed.

Dastjerdi, who had been severely injured in that explosion, passed away on the 14th of Shahrivar after several days of fighting his injuries.
