Early Morning of March 20, 2003 / March 29, 1381: The International Invasion of Iraq Led by the United States Began

The attackers captured Baghdad International Airport, located 10 miles from the capital, on April 3 / Farvardin 14. Six days later, with the arrival of the first group of American troops in Baghdad, the Ba'athist regime's rule ended after thirty-five years.

The arrogant and autocratic dictator, who harbored delusions of becoming the commander of Qadisiyyah and leading the ultimate battle, and who, like any tyrant, was oblivious to the illusory nature of his regime, hid away. However, eight months later, on December 12, 2003, he was captured in a degrading and humiliating manner by a few American soldiers and officers in an underground hideout in Tikrit that he had been using.

After 41 court sessions, Saddam Hussein was hanged at 6 AM on Sunday, December 31, 2006 / 10 Dey 1385 in one of his own intelligence-security centers (the Fifth Branch of the Kadhimiyah Intelligence Headquarters).

His execution order was signed by Nouri al-Maliki, the brave Prime Minister of Iraq, as document number 1342 on December 29, 2006, and was communicated to the relevant authorities for immediate execution.
