Hamid Rasaei, representative of Tehran in the open session of the parliament:

My note is addressed to one of the esteemed candidates. Dear sir! You, who have contracted your campaign offices to the ministers of Hassan Rouhani's government, should be careful.

One of Rouhani’s ministers, who is in your campaign, refers to other candidates as the Taliban, which means he is labeling 10 million Iranians in this way.

Another minister, Mr. Zarif, who is also in your campaign, calls other candidates ‘narrow-minded’ and ‘thugs’; yet you recite verses and speak of Nahj al-Balagha?!

You talk about national reconciliation and say you are not in conflict with anyone, my dear! This is not a disagreement; it is a declaration of war. Why are you not paying attention?

The outward appearance of your campaign offices reflects the essence of your government. The idea that ‘I won’t obstruct anyone because I want to get votes, and I will welcome anyone who comes into my campaign’ means that tomorrow, when you are in office, you won’t take responsibility for your actions. Be careful
