A day after the publication of Abdi Media's question and note regarding the banking disaster and the hackers' extortion of the Minister of Economy, as well as the exposure of the name "Tosan Company," Politico published an independent report, citing informed officials, identifying this company as the source of the security breach. In this report, the names of the attacked banks and the information published by Abdi Media have been confirmed.

The hackers hacked 20 Iranian banks and demanded a ransom of three million dollars to prevent the publication of customer information!

According to Politico, the cyberattack last month, which posed a threat to the stability of Iran's banking system, resulted in the electronic service provider for Iranian banks (Tosan Company) paying millions of dollars in ransom to the hackers.

Politico reported that an Iranian entity paid hackers at least three million dollars to dissuade them from releasing personal account information from the more than 20 hacked banks.

According to this report, this Iranian company, under pressure from the government, paid at least three million dollars as a ransom to prevent the release of data from 20 Iranian banks and the account information of millions of Iranians.

Politico stated that this was the worst cyberattack on Iran's banks, likely carried out by a group called "IRLeaks," which has a history of hacking Iranian banks. This hacker group had also hacked the information of more than 20 insurance companies and Snapfood in December.

Among the hacked banks are Bank of Industry and Mine, Mehr Bank, Post Bank, Iran Zamin Bank, Sarmayeh Bank , Joint Bank of Iran and Venezuela, Day Bank, Shahr Bank, Eqtesad Novin Bank , and Saman Bank .
