BBC - The family of former diplomat Alireza Akbari, who was sentenced to death on charges of espionage, in response to the publication of his forced confession, the audio file of his words about:
"Confession process/behind the scenes recording/intersection of dozens of hours of recorded video of him" have been provided to BBC Persian.

In this audio file, Amiri says that he had "three to four thousand hours of interrogation" under difficult conditions.

Alireza Akbari says in a new audio file that was recorded from his calls from prison to his family that he was forced to confess under the most severe physical and mental pressure and in life-and-death situations in order to record his confession. He says that he was taken to a "studio with chromaki walls" with green curtains to record the confession, and the agents "forced him to put on some clothes and even dyed his hair."

Akbari, in a letter that he gave to his family earlier, requested the Secretary General of the United Nations to cancel the death sentence and urge the British government to make a diplomatic effort to release him.
