Ambiguities and Violations in the Appointment of the Director General of Inspection of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development

 The appointment of Mr. Farid Farahmand as the Director General of Inspection of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development has been accompanied by ambiguities that are contrary to the current laws and regulations of the country.

Investigations show that he was appointed to this position on February 25, 2025, while he was still a "law trainee" at the time. According to the law, lawyers are obliged to "deposit their law licenses" while holding government positions, but it seems that this action was not taken by them. In addition, only 16 days after his appointment, on March 13, 2025, his law license was upgraded to grade one and he is still active in the system of the Judiciary Bar Center.  

From a legal point of view, this issue is a matter of serious question and doubt: how can a person who was still in the internship period of practicing law before his appointment succeed in obtaining a first-grade law license in less than 20 days after assuming a government position?  

 In addition, holding the position of board of directors in a private company by Mr. Farahmand is another violation. According to the documents, in addition to his government responsibility, he is also the chairman of the board of directors of a private company called "Rahbar Setareh Taban Kish", which is prohibited and violated according to the country's administrative laws. Also, his simultaneous membership in the faculty of Payame Noor University needs further investigation based on the rules.  

In light of these cases, it is expected that the supervisory authorities and responsible agencies will investigate these possible violations and provide a clear answer regarding these appointments.
