Ahmed Kamrani, one of the accused in the assassination of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, died in Marmar Palace at the age of 82, and according to his will, his funeral ceremony was held at the dawn of Wednesday (August 2) in Dasht Afroz Mausoleum, Kashan without inviting anyone.

In the death notice of the late Ahmad Kamrani, which is the text of his will, it is stated that 300 million Tomans were spent on charity instead of the funeral ceremony. The text of the will in its declaration is as follows:

I, Ahmad Kamrani, SH 771, issued from Kashan on July 25, 2022, I am 82 years old, I ask my relatives not to call me for a funeral and to bury me at dawn.

Who was Ahmad Kamrani?

Ahmad Kamrani was born in Kashan in 1939. He was a childhood friend of Reza Shamsabadi, a soldier of the Imperial Guard, who carried out the unsuccessful assassination of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. Because of his close friendship with Shamsabadi, Kamrani was aware of his assassination plan; The unsuccessful assassination of the Shah was carried out by Shamsabadi on April 10, 1965. The soldier who opened fire on Mohammad Reza Pahlavi in ​​the Marble Palace and lost his life.

After this incident, 14 people were arrested, including the Nikkhah Marxist group, Ahmed Kamrani was also arrested as one of the main agents and sentenced to death. In the 8th session of the military court, Kamrani stated in his defense, referring to the tortures: "They brought me to Tehran, stripped me naked, five-six people beat me and threatened me and said disturbing things, and in such a situation The contents of the case and my confessions were included in the field of writing.

Ahmad Kamrani was sentenced to death in the primary court (on November 1, 1965). This verdict was confirmed in the appeals court (on December 15), but during the appeal on December 26, 1965, his sentence was changed to life imprisonment. Kamrani was pardoned on the occasion of the celebrations of the 2500th year of the emperor and was released from prison on November 11, 1971.
