it has now been officially declared that he served as the Chief of the Military Office of the third Leader of the Islamic Republic, succeeding Major General Mohammad Shirazi.

In an official statement, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) formally confirmed that Major General Abolqasem Babaian, the Special Inspector to the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, along with members of his family, were targeted.
