July 13, 1944 – October 6, 1987) was a cleric and an early member and founder of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). He was also the brother-in-law of Hossein Ali Montazeri, the Deputy Leader of the Islamic Republic.
 

He was arrested before the revolution on charges of complicity in the murder of Seyyed Abolhasan Shamsabadi in Isfahan and was sentenced in April 1976.

📌 After the revolution, he was responsible for the Public Relations Unit and a member of the Supreme Command Council of the IRGC. He was in charge of the IRGC’s Liberation Movements and continued in this role until the dissolution of this unit.

📌 Before the revolution, Hashemi was in contact with armed groups in Lebanon and Libya along with Mohammad Montazeri.

📌 In October 1986, he was retried by Ali Razini in the Special Clerical Court on charges of the murder of Seyyed Abolhasan Shamsabadi, Qanbarali Safarzadeh, Abbasgholi Heshmat, and several others. Ultimately, he was executed a year later in October 1987 and was buried in Plot 2, Behesht-e Masoumeh, Section 2, Row 6, Grave 90, Qom.
