"Four prisoners at Evin Prison who were injured in the clashes between inmates and the fire passed away yesterday evening despite medical treatment. All eight deceased were inmates from the theft-related crimes section. Six of the injured are still hospitalized, and their general condition is stable."
This contrasts with the earlier report by Abdi Media, which indicated that the death toll was 10.
The Judiciary has not yet provided information about the two individuals who were reportedly shot.
