The Ministry of Intelligence and the Intelligence Organization of the Revolutionary Guards officially accused Niloofar Hamedi, a reporter for Shargh, and Elahe Mohammadi, a reporter for Hemmihan newspaper, of publishing the first photo of Mahsa Amini on the hospital bed and disseminating "biased news" about the funeral, burial, and initial protests.
These two intelligence agencies described the reporters as individuals trained in courses by what they call the "mafia regime of the United States" in foreign countries, and accused them of serving as primary sources of news for "foreign media."
