He fell ill on May 10, 2000 while returning from Karbala on the border of Syria and Iraq and died there.
His body was transferred from Syria to Iran and was buried on Sunday, May 14, 2000 in the shrine of Hazrat Masoumeh.
Ali Hojjati Kermani, born in 1938, was a writer, researcher, Islamologist, translator and Quran scholar, one of the members of the editorial board of Maktab Islam magazine, and he had a long record of fighting against the Pahlavi government
