The representative of Pakistan at the United Nations said that if there is a war with India, nuclear weapons may be used.

The representative of Pakistan at the United Nations has stated that if a war occurs with India, they may resort to using nuclear weapons. Germany and Italy announced that they had informed the United States before the incident (September 11), and this news adds to Bush's problems.

We went to the leadership office for the celebration of the birthday of [Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and Imam Sadiq (PBUH)]. There wasn't anything new in the talks of them and Mr. [Mohammad Khatami]. I studied in the office until the evening. Efat went to Rafsanjan. For dinner, Fatemeh, Sara, and Saeed brought food; they had bought it from outside.

Limited clashes continue at the borders of Pakistan and India, with casualties occurring daily. India claims that Pakistan supports forces in the territory of India-controlled Kashmir. Yesterday, the presidential plane, which had gone to the Netherlands for overhaul, was seized due to outstanding debts. The repeal of the penal code has created a new crisis.

Today in Algeria, there were elections and a number of people were killed in clashes. For years, the boycott of elections by some factions of the Islamic forces and widespread massacres in Algeria have continued.

After eight months, the cleanup of the wreckage from the September 11 attacks in New York is complete, yet there are still many missing. Meanwhile, Germany and Italy have also announced that they had informed the United States prior to the incident, adding to [George] Bush's [the President of the United States] problems. In Venezuela, protests by opponents of [Hugo Chavez], the president, continue, and the U.S. is not backing off from him.
