The most important and newsworthy issue of the twentieth century is the Palestine issue, and the Palestine case can serve as an indicator, laboratory, and benchmark of right and wrong.

Mr. [Mahmoud] Vaezi said, Mr. Erfani says that the Americans have informed the leadership's office that they have uncovered a malicious plot against the leadership during the anniversary ceremony of Imam. I said, I have not received any information about it.

[Mr. Jasem Mohammad Al-Khrafi], the Speaker of the Kuwaiti Parliament, came along with a group of ministers and members of the Kuwaiti Parliament. Our discussions were about Palestine, Iraq, the missing persons from both countries in Iraq, and the cooperation between the two countries. Dr. [Abdullah] Jasebi, [the President of the Islamic Azad University], came. It became clear that in previous years, we had overlooked approving his presidency of the university and issuing his decree; he should be addressed every four years. Attention has not been given to the statutes. [The] registry [organization] has recently requested a decree from him. It was agreed that it should be rectified.

In the afternoon, I went to the venue for the closing ceremony of the Imam Khomeini conference and support for Palestine, at the conference hall of the leaders. Before the speech, I had a meeting with Mr. Ahmad Jibril, [leader of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine], and I expressed my condolences for the martyrdom of his son. At the meeting, I received a very warm welcome from the attendees. Hassan Khomeini, [the conference president], welcomed me, and I spoke in detail about the issue of Palestine, suggesting that an international trial be symbolically established to review a case where the main defendants are Britain, the United States, the United Nations, and Arab and Islamic governments. Ms. Leila Khaled, [Palestinian fighter], based on my proposal, made a suggestion to establish a committee and gifted me a keffiyeh. Archbishop [Hilarion] Kapouchi, [honorary member of the Fatah organization], said he was greatly impressed by my speech.

Mr. [Mahmoud] Vaezi said, Mr. Erfani states that the Americans have informed the leadership office that they have uncovered a malicious conspiracy against the leadership during the Imam's anniversary ceremony. I said, I have not received any information.

The governor of Shiraz has announced that [Vahid] Sadeqi, who claims to have been abducted and tortured, has a history of misconduct and fraud, and has self-harmed for the purpose of propaganda and exploiting foreign resources; although he was in charge of the memorial ceremony for the late Dr. [Yadollah] Sahabi in Shiraz, Engineer [Ezzatollah] Sahabi has also stated that he had previously been expelled from the National-Religious faction and is considered an unworthy person. This is a new problem for the Second Khordad supporters; similar to the issues surrounding Nazemzadeh and Farshad Ebrahimi, etc.
