Some of the Friday imams have sharply criticized Mr. Karroubi for expressing a "disgraceful ruling" and Mr. Khatami for opposing the ruling. 

In most of the Friday prayers and before the prayers, the government, parliament and the recent movements of some students were attacked regarding the death sentence of Aghajari, and some supported the sentence.

Some of the Friday imams have sharply criticized Mr. Karroubi for expressing a "disgraceful ruling" and Mr. Khatami for opposing the ruling.

I was at home.  He spent all his time studying. In most of today's Friday prayers and speeches before prayers to the government, parliament and recent movements, some students attacked the ruling [Hashem's execution] and some supported the ruling and some said that we should wait until the final stages of the ruling are reached.  

In a number of cities, they have marched in support of the leadership and against the recent government bills and movements against the courts, and petitions have been signed and announcements have been distributed.  Some of the Imams of Juma'ah have sharply criticized [Mr. Mehdi Karroubi], Speaker of the Parliament, for the expression of "disgraceful ruling" and [Mr. Seyed Mohammad Khatami], the President, for opposing the ruling. On the other hand, foreign and counter-revolutionary media continue to support Aghajari and incite students.  This kind of line-up is harmful to the revolution, and it also harms the Khordadians.  Because they officially agree with the counter-revolution, Reza Pahlavi and America.

In England, 50,000 firemen are on strike and want 40% more wages.  The government has employed 18,000 army personnel [for firefighting], but their weakness has become a source of jokes and ridicule.

In China, [Hujin Tao], Jiang Zemin's deputy, became the general secretary of the [Communist] Party, who would later become the president, and [Jiang] Zemin himself remained the commander of the armed forces and the head of the military committee.  The new appointments are a sign of youthfulness in the party.  

British Foreign Minister Jack Straw has said in remarkable statements that the existing problems in the Middle East are the result of the British colonial era's misbehavior, and that the problems in Kashmir, Palestine, Iraq's borders and the land issue in Zimbabwe are caused by the wrong or incomplete actions of Britain during its colonial rule, and these statements have caused the reaction of British conservatives.

[Jimmy] Carter, the former president of the United States, has also said that America's arrogant behavior towards other countries will cause many challenges and insecurities, and we must accept that we cannot have influence everywhere.  There has been a serious disagreement between [Vladimir Putin], the president of Russia, and NATO leaders over NATO's expansion to the east.
