Akbar Hashemi's memories - November 5, 2002

Attaullah Mohajerani, [Civilizations Dialogue Center Director] said, on behalf of the protection of the judiciary, they have arrested two women employees in his office and asked them to cooperate with information, he is worried.

Mohsen said, Mr. Tajzadeh said that Mr. Hashemi prevented the arrest of Mr. [Abbas] Abdi in the past, so it is good for him to help for now.  I said that in the past there was no specific discussion about me and Abdi that I would prevent, but I said in general that no one should be arrested because of me.

The infrastructure commission had a meeting.  Another clause of the general policies of the agriculture sector was approved with the aim of attracting more capital to this sector.  In the evening, Mr. [Hamidreza] Tahmasabi and [Mohammed Hosseini] Yekta came from the [cultural] army of the province.  Students have a plan for their free time.  I donated one million tomans and gave tickets.  

Mr. [Attaullah] Mohajerani, [the head of the Center for Dialogue of Civilizations] came. He said that on behalf of the protection of the judiciary, two of the women employees in his office were arrested and asked to cooperate with information, and [Mr. Ali Younisi], the Minister of Information, said that they intend to file a case against Mr. Mohajerani;  He is anxious and asked for help.  He gave an explanation about the research institute [Ideen], which was recently prosecuted for the abuse [of the survey].  It has caused concern among extremists.  They deny the accusation of espionage.  In their speech yesterday, the leadership attacked those who make opinions instead of polling.

Mohsen came during lunch. He said, Mr. [Mustafa] Tajzadeh said that Mr. Hashemi had prevented the arrest of Mr. [Abbas] Abdi in the past, so it would be good if he helped now.  I said, in the past, there was no specific discussion about me and Abdi that I should prevent, but I said in general that no one should be arrested because of me, and Mr. Abdi was included in that.  Mohsen did not eat lunch because he was fasting.  I liked going to welcome Ramadan.  

Mr. Behzad Nabovi, [Vice Speaker of the Majlis], who went to Ahvaz University to give a speech at the invitation of participants, a group of students prevented him from continuing his speech.  In the reports, it is stated that people tried to destroy the grave of Alireza Nouri, [Tehran Representative], from Imamzadeh Ali Akbar [Chizer], but they were prevented by placing a guard.  Efat quoted Mrs. Mohtashmi as saying that Alireza Nouri's father said that he did not sleep because he was worried about the exhumation of his son's grave.
 
Yesterday, two Israelis were killed and 70 people were injured in an act of martyrdom in Israel.  [Ariel] Sharon, [Prime Minister] has agreed to hold early elections.  In Sri Lanka, after 19 years of civil war and 60 thousand deaths, a peace agreement was signed between the government and the Tamils.
