About one hundred martyrs were buried, twelve of them are former prisoners. A number of prisoners also participated in the funeral, a large number of Iraqis had come. I came to my office.
Mr. Kongerlo came. They talked about helping the hostages and buying American weapons. The Minister of Defense came. He asked for help to buy and pay overdue bills. Mr. Qureshi came. He asked for help for mosques, which I did not have. Mr. Rahmani, the deposed telex manager of the Majlis, came and complained about Saeed al-Zakarin. Mr. [Mahdi] Jahangiri came and reported on the status of Hajj. During the Hajj ceremony, Mr. [Mahdi] Karroubi was the head of the office.
In the evening, I participated in the meeting of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution. Selection criteria for military and law enforcement higher education centers were approved. It is a little more difficult than the rules of civilian universities.
We discussed with Ayatollah Khamenei about the current issues of the country in his absence and the Harare conference. He is very satisfied with the results of his trip. The Central Council of the Fighting Clergy Community had a meeting there. We did not have an important order in the meeting. He mostly listened to Mr. [Ayatollah] Khamenei's [non-aligned Janash conference in] Harare.
After the dinner, Mr. Golpaygani expressed concern about the conflict between Mr. Rahmani's representation on behalf of Ayatollah Montazeri as the representative of the Faqih in the three-person delegation of Iraq and the order that Mr. [Ayatollah] Khamenei has from the Imam to deal with Iraq's issues.
Today, Iraq attacked Tabriz refinery and power plant, which caused some damage. We told the IRGC to retaliate by firing missiles at Baghdad. I went home at night. The children were sleeping, I arrived late.
