Ahmad Agha came in the afternoon and brought the text of Mr. [Seyyed Kazem] Shariatmadari's letters to the Army Revolutionary Court, which were against the counterrevolution, and included a request for clemency for his son-in-law [Ahmad] Abbasi, which was supposed to be broadcast. We also discussed other matters.
Mr. Moezzi, the Deputy Minister of the Interior, also came and brought documents indicating that some of the intermediaries purchasing weapons for the Iranian army were acting improperly. I informed the Minister of Defense, and it was decided that they would pursue the matter. Early in the evening, my nieces and nephews came and gave news about the health of relatives in Nouq. Mr. [Ali Akbar] Nategh Nouri called to inform me about the problems of the people of Qahderijan that had arisen after its separation from Falavarjan, and said that Mr. Seyyed Baqer Hashemi, the member of parliament, was influential there, so I also called him and asked him to calm the people.
