I came to my office at half past seven in the morning. I did the current work until half past eight. Mr. [Sheikh Abulhasan] Shirazi, the imam of Friday, came to Mashhad and advised Ayatollah Montazeri to preserve unity and solve the problem.

Mr. [Ali] Fallahian [Information Minister] came. Reported the information works and plans. Mr. [Hamid] Mirzadeh came for executive work and description of measures in Kish and to request the solution of work problems there, including water and electricity and the presence of the governor there; I told the relevant ministers.

Mr. [Sydmansour] Razavi came for administrative and recruitment matters. Mr. Abbas Safaryan [Iranian Ambassador to Gabon] came and told about Gabon. His time as an ambassador is over. Mr. [Amir] Abedini, governor of Khorasan, came. expressed loyalty He thinks that my mind is not good with him. I assured him and said that he cannot work in Khorasan due to lack of coordination with Mr. Tabasi.

Akhavi Mohammad voiced his displeasure over the transfer of radio and television policy making to others. In the evening, the government board had a meeting for the five-year plan. The replacement of Mr. [Mohammed Hossein] Adeli in place of Mr. [Majid] Ghasemi as the head of the Central Bank was approved.

Last night, I visited Ayatollah Mousavi Ardabili who came from Mashhad. Ahmad Agha was also there. Regarding the management of the Center for Strategic Studies [of the Presidency], he stated that he was not ready. He has decided to go to Qom and stay and come to Tehran during holidays. Ahmad Agha also confirmed the same. Ahmad Agha expressed his displeasure over the dismissal of Ashikh Mohammad [Hashemian] from the head of justice. Mr. [Mousavi] Ardabili expressed his satisfaction with Mr. Tabasi's hospitality and expressed his dissatisfaction with Mr. [Abolhasan] Haerizadeh's [representative of Birjand] statements in the parliament. I stayed in my office at night and did the backlog.
