In the morning, I read reports, get news, write memories and eat breakfast. After meeting with [Mr. Akbar Parhizkar], the governor of East Azerbaijan and listening to his content about the province's affairs and needs, I had a meeting with the managers of agriculture and industry in Moghan; I encouraged them.
They reported that due to fog, the plane could not land and went to Tabriz; Helicopters can't fly either, so for two hours, we visited different sectors of agriculture and industry, the center for keeping indigenous cows, buffaloes and sheep, field herds and sugar beet fields and how they are harvested by car, as well as soybean fields and a cheese factory.
At half past eleven, we left for Ardabil by plane. From Ardabil airport, we immediately flew to Astara by helicopter. Due to the cloudiness of Hiran Pass, the helicopters went up so high that it caused my ears to cramp and hurt. After a while, he calmed down.
In Astara, with the enthusiastic welcome of the people and participating in the welcoming ceremony, I went to their community. After the welcome of Mr. [Sadiq] Ehsanbakhsh [representative of religious jurist in Gilan province and Juma Imam of Rasht] and the governor, I spoke briefly. It was a huge and unprecedented gathering.
At the Astara Customs, we visited the Iran-Soviet transit program, the Shahid warehouse and ferry shop, and listened to the customs chief's explanations. From there we went to Mehdi Shahr. Here the sea water advances. Many houses have been flooded. I visited the beach construction project to prevent damages; They block the waves, but they cannot prevent the penetration of water. The water has started to go down and they say that they don't have any problems in winter. This shows that there is a strong possibility that the cause of the rising water is the increase in the Volga River. We went to a house. I talked to the residents. They have a serious problem. We went to the governor's office for lunch.
The helicopters were unable to fly because of the clouds and fog, and we had to drive to Ardabil by car. We were on our way for an hour. The interview was conducted at the new Ardabil airport and we flew to Tehran. We arrived after sunset. I was very tired. Chastity was alone. We had a ready dinner and I went to bed early.
