After staying at home for a few days, I went to the parliament. I first learned that the C-130 plane carrying 90 military personnel crashed in Zahedan last night and 15 officers and 75 rank-and-file soldiers were martyred. I came to the parliament. Mr. [Gholamabas] a pilgrim came and explained about yesterday's problem - that the headquarters of Shahid Motahari asked the employees of the parliament to get the special card of the headquarters and did not allow them to enter the parliament. There is a difference of opinion between the IRGC and the Parliament.

The Indian ambassador came. He invited me to introduce someone to receive the Lady [Indira] Gandhi Award. India has given this award to those who have done important service for peace or their country. There was a complaint from Pakistan that it wanted to bring the "Free Kashmir" delegation to the conference of Islamic leaders, and I emphasized the need for India to pay more attention to the Muslims of this country.

The commanders of the Prophet's army came. I spoke for them and helped them five hundred thousand tomans. A group of Air Force personnel came. They said about political ideological weakness and complained about the president's military task force.

Mr. [Ali Mohammad] Basharti [Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs] came. He expressed his concern about the situation that has arisen in connection with Ayatollah Montazeri's house, while emphasizing the necessity of pursuing Seyyed Mahdi's group. Mr. Rafiq Dost came and gave a report on the progress of the procurement of five hundred battalions and received permission to spend two billion tomans.

Ayatollah Khamenei came in the afternoon. We discussed the quality of announcing the case of McFarlane coming to Iran. An agreement was reached. At first, they did not agree with the decision of our meeting last night. We discussed the quality of work with Saudi Arabia regarding the proposal to remove Saddam. In the evening Mr. Hosni Saadi came and told about the needs of the ground force. Mr. [Abbas] Dozdozani [Tehran's representative] came and complained about Mutalifah.

Mr. Riyazi came. He said that the report of the proposals we have regarding the purchase of weapons shows that if we have money, it is possible to provide weapons. Mr. [Mohammed Javad] Irvani, Minister of Finance, came. He gave an economic report and appealed to the central bank for the problem. I stayed the night in the parliament.

Messrs. [Jalaluddin] Taheri [representative of Wali Faqih and Imam Juma of Isfahan] and [Abdullah] Nouri [representative of Imam Khomeini in the construction jihad] came. They expressed concern about issues related to Mr. Montazeri, and Mr. Taheri told about Imam's issues and his concerns that he had heard in today's meeting. They have been assigned by the Imam to meet and talk with Mr. Montazeri. I stayed the night in the parliament.
