I reached the parliament at quarter past seven. There was nothing important in the reports. In the public meeting, the bill on the limits of private sector activity was discussed. In the election of the main member of the Council of Broadcasting, there was a difference of opinion on the meaning of the regulations. In the afternoon Mr. Sakhayi - our ambassador in Qatar - came and gave information about the Sheikhs and consulted on some matters.

In the evening, Mr. Dr. Jazayeri came and complained about the pressure that the opponents of Dr. Marandi [Minister of Health, Treatment and Medical Education] put on him, and announced the formation of the Islamic Association of Doctors against the medical system. Mr. Rafiq Dost came and told about the progress of the deal with China.

I participated in the meeting of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution. The presidents of Mashhad, Kerman and Al-Zahra universities were approved, and the discipline of the universities and the strengthening of the management and prosecution of troublemakers in the fine arts complex were discussed. Then there was a discussion about the use of unqualified scientists in universities.

After the meeting, we talked with Mr. [Ayatollah] Khamenei about the war and the issue of French ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz - which they have asked us not to attack. I came home at eight o'clock. I greeted Mr. Sayad [Shirazi]. During his visit to the front line, he was superficially injured by a grenade explosion.
