I spoke with Mr. Sayad [Shirazi] and Mr. Mohsen Rezaei. The commander of the 30th battalion asked the IRGC to carry out future operations, but the IRGC has assigned the 20th battalion. Mohsen Rezaei claims that they do not have more forces and Sayad says that without 30 battalions, the operation cannot be started. He is surprised that the IRGC, having more than 100,000 permanent IRGC cadres and so many volunteers, how can it not deliver 30 battalions of troops? The IRGC battalions usually have three hundred people. In the evening, I discussed this issue with [Mr. Mohsen] Rafiq Dost [Minister of IRGC] and said that if this is really the case, the IRGC divisions should be merged so that the IRGC organization does not spread all these forces and become ineffective. We did not have any important issues in the reports.
