I came to the parliament at eight thirty in the morning. [Sam] Njoma, the leader of the [Namibian Liberation Front] Swapo came to meet and the talks were about the status of the Namibian revolution. Dr. [Mohsen] Noorbakhsh [CEO of the Central Bank] came. He asked me to give a speech at the opening ceremony of the Islamic banking seminar, which is supposed to be attended by thirty countries, and I went. [Mr. Mohammad Nabi Habibi] the mayor of Tehran and Majd Ara [Deputy Minister of Interior] came. They complained about the influence of people in the Ministry of Interior.

Mr. [Nasser Jirani] Nubri, our new ambassador in Russia [= Soviet Union] came and told about the weakness of the force in the embassy and was advised to try to develop relations. Messrs. [Masih] Mohajeri and [Mohammad Reza] Beheshti came. I criticized two articles of the Islamic Republic newspaper about the Majlis and the Islamic Azad University, and they were upset that the proposals of the Chamber of Commerce regarding the development of exports by the private sector were taken into account.

In the afternoon Mr. [Hatem] Norwegian representative came to me. He was worried about the differences between Imam Juma Bam and the clerics of the Islamic Propaganda Organization. Mr. Mahluji and Mahdavi came and reported the activities of the tourist, claiming to build ground-to-ground missiles. They said it is superficial and unreliable.

In the evening, Dr. Hadi and Dr. Rouhani came. There was a discussion about the follow-up of the issue of American hostages.
