Today is the first month of Ramadan. At half past three in the morning, I woke up with the alarm clock for suhoor. Yasser and I are fasting. After the prayer, I slept until eight o'clock in the morning.

I went to my office. Mr. [Abulfazl] Tawakli [Bina] and Dr. Qazi came to congratulate Eid. Mr. [Reza] Amrollahi, [Head of the Atomic Energy Organization], for atomic energy affairs and Dr. [Hasan] Habibi, [First Vice President], for the current affairs of the country and Mr. [Mortaza] Al-Veiri, [Chairman of the Parliament's Program and Budget Commission], came to discuss the implementation of the first five-year plan.

Messrs. [Isa] Kalantari and [Jalal] Sadatian came from the trip to Zelandeno and brought the message of [James Baker], the US Secretary of State, which was sent to Iran by the Zelandeno Foreign Minister in order to praise the relations and solve the hostage issue. They also brought the text of the report of the Foreign Relations Committee of the US Congress, which was given to them by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of New Zealand, indicating the desire to improve relations with Iran.

In the evening, the government board had a meeting. Decisions were made regarding the granting of facilities and the allocation of currency to the institutions and the approval of executive regulations. I arrived home at half past six. Iftar, Fati and children were there.
