It rained last night until morning. I arrived at the office at half past eight. Dr. [Reza] Malekzadeh [Minister of Health and Medical Education] came. He had questions about healthcare and medical and pharmaceutical universities and asked for my opinion. It seems that he is more active than the former ministers and spends all his time on the progress of the work and is more interested in his work.
Mr. [Abbas Ali] Vakil, [head of the headquarters for handling the affairs of freedmen] came. He gave a report on the progress of the Azadegan headquarters. He had brought a gift to Eft as a token of gratitude and in memory of the time he visited the war wounded in hospitals.
Mr. [Syed Ali Akbar] Abu Tarabian and his brother came. They criticized Mr. Vakili and wanted to replace him. Mr. [Gholamreza Aghazadeh], the oil minister, came. He reported the situation and told about the demands of some of the workers in Kangan [Gas Refinery]. Mr. [Mohammed] Gharehi, [Minister of Post, Telegraph and Telephone] came and asked for the construction and sending of a communication satellite [Zehre to space].
In the evening, Dr. Velayati [Minister of Foreign Affairs] came. Discussions were held about regional issues, Hajj and aid to the Lebanese and Palestinian Mujahideen, etc. Engineer [Mirhossein] Mousavi, [president's political adviser] came. We talked about regional issues and Iraq.
Their guards and families were guests for iftar. Our family also came. I spoke with them and we ate Iftar together and I gave each of them two hundred tomans. We came home.
