I started my tasks early in the morning and studied until the moment of the New Year's arrival. I also played a little with Yasser. At the moment of the New Year, I had breakfast with Efat and Yasser. Mahdi and Fati were also at the late Lahouti's house. [I attended] the messages from Imam [Khomeini] and [Ayatollah] Mr. Khamenei and Mr.
Early in the morning I got busy with my tasks and studied until the moment of the New Year's turnover arrived. I also played with Yaser for a while. At the moment of the New Year's turnover, Effat, Yaser, and I had breakfast. Mehdi and Fati were also at the home of the late Lahouti. I listened to the messages of Imam [Khomeini], [Ayatollah] Mr. Khamenei, and Mr. [Mousavi] Ardebili. The Revolutionary Guards came to see me. I spoke with the Imam's office about receiving the representatives and staff of Parliament at the meeting with the Imam.
I went to the Imam's office to visit him. Then I went to the Jamaran Hosseiniyeh; nearly all the heads of the institutions and organizations were present. The President congratulated the Imam on the arrival of Nowruz, and the Imam also gave a lengthy speech condemning the arrogant class and palace-dwellers and praising the shack-dwellers. Given the ongoing disagreements regarding the two prevailing economic theories in society, the Imam's remarks favored our positions and those of Parliament. I returned home and gave the children New Year's gifts. Mr. [Mousavi] Ardebili and I agreed to travel for two or three days to get some rest.
In the afternoon, a group of relatives came. Agha Seyyed Hadi [Hashemi], Mr. Montazeri's son-in-law, came; he criticized the positions of the teachers of the Qom Seminary and had a proposal. He was very pleased with the Imam's speech today. We talked about Ayatollah Montazeri and the necessity of publishing his treatise [on practical rulings].
