We also had an open session today. The approval of the Water Bill was completed. I spoke at length regarding Israel's military incursion into southern Lebanon. One hundred and fifty representatives also signed a statement, and Mr. Khosrow Nagi, the Jewish representative, also condemned [Israel's aggression against Lebanon].

Before noon, Mr. [Salah] Zawawi, the Palestinian ambassador, came and gave news of the Israeli attack and requested assistance.

A group of workers from the Islamic [Association] also came, and I spoke to them. In the afternoon, Mr. Ghazali, one of the longtime seminary students from Mashhad, came and said that he had fallen out with Mr. [Vaez] Tabasi and was staying in Qom. I suggested to him that he form a unit with Mr. [Mohammad-Reza] Hakimi to write the history of the Revolution.

Mr. Shams al-Din, Vice President of the Supreme Islamic Shia Council of Lebanon, and a group of Lebanese scholars came, and we discussed Lebanon, future plans, and our assistance. They expressed solidarity with the goals of the Islamic Republic.

Mr. [Gholam-Reza] Safai and a group of his colleagues from the Political-Ideological Department of the Army came and complained about a lack of cooperation from Colonel [Ali] Sayyad Shirazi. I also performed the marriage ceremony for a Guard Corps member. The bride donated her engagement ring toward war expenses.

The Governor of Tehran, Mr. Samat, also came and complained about the pressure put on him due to his ties to the [Hojjatieh] Association. The Supreme Defense Council held a meeting in Parliament. We discussed the future program for the war. In a television interview, I announced the decisions. At night, I returned home.
