Chinese Prime Minister [Zaoxiang] came to the residence at half past eight in the morning for the last meeting and farewell. The cooperation memorandum was signed by Deputy Prime Minister [Gholamreza] Aghazadeh and his counterpart. Official negotiations were held and then a private meeting was held at my request. We talked about getting missiles. He agreed and accepted the urgency of the delivery. We said goodbye to the Prime Minister and came to the airport. Then we took a Chinese plane to the city of Xi'an [located 800 km southwest of Beijing]. The companions are happy about the complete success of the trip and so are the Chinese.

City officials were welcomed at the airport. We went to the governorate hotel. We rested a bit and after lunch and prayer, we went forty kilometers to the city to see the statues of six thousand guards of their former emperors. The area is green and very suitable for agriculture. They say that they get crops from the land twice a year. They have a thousand millimeters of rain per year. These lands have been changed from the state of commons and divided among the farmers, and therefore the yield has increased. I had already seen the film of their sculptures in the Silk Road series.

In the evening, we visited the [Kevin Terracotta] Museum and the Muslim [Jama'i] Mosque. It is an interesting mosque that was destroyed after the [Chinese] revolution and they are rebuilding it. We negotiated with the Muslims and the Imam of the congregation for some time. The mosque is very large and dates back to the 7th century. They said that there are about ten mosques in this city and this is the reason for the large presence of Islam in the past. Currently, about fifty thousand Muslims live there.

In the streets, many people had come to watch on both sides of the street. It is a holiday and people are unemployed. The appearance of people is clean and uniform. It was raining and many people had umbrellas. The governor gave a dinner in our honor. We talked at the dinner table. They announced that the meat was slaughtered in Islam. We received a telegram from the Prime Minister of China thanking us for our trip and the results of the trip. We stayed at the hotel at night. Some of the companions went to the stores in the city for shopping.
