In Iraq, there have been two or three attacks on the occupying forces, leaving one dead and nine injured, and another explosion has occurred in an oil facility, power and water outages have widened, and several Iraqis have been killed in the clashes, and the Americans attribute the majority of the clashes to the Baathists.  

Conflict continues in Palestine.  It was announced in Saudi Arabia that the government has removed a thousand clerics from their positions.  Saud al-Faisal, [the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia], in a meeting with me a few days ago, said that they have a plan to gather the scholars and tell them to stop their radical political and social thoughts or else they will leave. They are bigoted Salafis.

In Great Britain, a fierce dispute has arisen between the government and the BBC over the media's disclosure of the manipulation of [Tony] Blair, [British Prime Minister], in reporting information about weapons of mass destruction, and they have asked the BBC to apologize, and he insists on the truth of his report.

In France, the Socialist Party has protested against the arrest of the Mujahideen.  106 students of Tahakimi [= Tahakim Vahdat office] wrote a sharp letter to Mr. [Syed Mohammad] Khatami in an open manner and told him that if he does not have the power to perform his duties, he should resign from the position of president.[2]  About 300 professors from universities across the country have written an open letter to Mr. [Mahdi] Karroubi, [Speaker of the Parliament] and have severely criticized the malfunctioning of the 6th Parliament.
