In the session of the Assembly [Determining Expediency of the Nizam], before the order, the issues of the International Nuclear Agency

In the session of the Assembly [Determining Expediency of the Nizam], before the order, the issues of the International Nuclear Agency, as well as the recent protests and disturbances, were discussed and the weakness of crisis management was criticized.  We discussed investment policies.  I considered one of the obstacles to investment and economic prosperity to be the Sufi-origin and ascetic culture that spread after the revolution and turned the owners upside down, and I said, if the true opinion of Islam regarding the world and the wealth and blessings of God prevails, this problem will be solved.

In the afternoon, Mr. [Abbas Waez] Tabasi, [Ahmed] Jannati, [Ali Akbar] Natiq [Nuri], [Mohammed Ali] Mohadi [Kermani] and [Qorban Ali] Dori [Najafabadi] were my guests.  Regarding the protests that led to the recent disturbances and the problems of the Ministry of Science and the agitations of the parliamentarians, etc., and the undue weakening of the popular forces of the revolution and appreciation of the students, as well as the negotiation of the twin bills, and indirectly, the lack of decisiveness of the leadership in recent issues was also criticized.

In the evening [Mr. Mohammad Haqpanahi], the president of Applied Science University and his deputies [Mr. Masoud Bani Asad and Pirsarabi] and Mr. [Alireza] Mahjoub, [Secretary General of the Worker's House] came and gave a report on the progress of the work.  They have about 150 thousand students.  It was established in a constructive government with effective support.  They asked for help and support.

In Iraq, there are daily scattered clashes between the people and the Americans.  Today, there were large demonstrations in Baghdad, where people demanded to pay attention to the opinions of scholars and clerics.

In Iran, there are dormant movements and many people are under arrest, but inside some universities and dormitories, limited gatherings of protesting students are still held and sometimes they shout insulting slogans.
