Memoirs of Akbar Hashemi – January 18, 1992

I had breakfast at eight in the morning and went to my office by helicopter. The chastity of the lady remained in Letian. The children were all gone at night for their work and their children's school.

Mr. [Abdullah] Nouri, the Minister of Interior, came. brought the flock of the Fighting Clergy Association because of the harsh content that was included in the news bulletin of the Fighting Clergy Association against some members of the Clergy Association; I said we will warn. In addition, I told him to tell them that although some of the extremist leaders have remained silent, some of their more aggressive comrades are still saying false and harsh words; I said, basically, you should think about all the bulletins.

Clergy members of Tehran's fighting clergy community came from all over the city. Mr. [Ali Akbar] Natiq Noori gave a short speech and recited a poem in praise of Amirul Momineen.

I also gave a detailed talk about the situation of the country, the region, the world and our conditions and the revolution and the requirements of the time and elections.

Mr. [Mohammadreza] Mahdavi Keni and [Mohiuddin] Anwari came. The fast and protective cars have taken them. They are supposed to shoot arrows. Mr. [Ataullah] Mohajerani came and reported his trip to Syria, Lebanon and Jordan.

I did the work until half past four in the evening. Then we went to the Lethyan dam site. Some children also came. It was reported that the rulers of Algeria summoned our ambassador and expressed their displeasure with our dealings and said that they want to lower the level of relations as a protest.
