We had a public meeting. Before the order, I spoke about the death of Mr. [Sayed Majaddin] Qazi - Imam Juma Dezful. The draft of the press law, which was returned from the Guardian Council, was amended. Mr. Dr. Rohani came before noon. We discussed the war and provision of supplies. In the evening, Mr. [Georgi] Kornenko, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Soviet Union, came to meet. The development of relations between the two countries was discussed. I criticized the policy of the Soviet Union towards Iran, Afghanistan and Iraq. There was no correct answer. He brought the letter of the two presidents of the two Soviet parliaments and at the end of the meeting he emphasized that they will not give Iraq a long-range missile that can hit Tehran. Dr. Velayati said on the phone that the Russians do not shy away from Saddam's trial and fall.

[Mr. Abdelhamid Ajaly] the Algerian ambassador came and invited me on behalf of [Rabeh Bitat], the speaker of the Algerian parliament, and insisted that I go early. He complained that we did not go to Algeria during the trip to Libya. Colonel Tarabi came, said goodbye and went to the front and said that it is better for me not to go by plane and go by car. I stayed the night in my office.
