Full text of the diary:

In the morning, I went from home to the Joint Headquarters of the IRGC to inaugurate the meeting of the officials of the Supreme Leader's Representative in the IRGC. After the military formalities, Mr. [Ali] Saeedi, [the deputy representative of the Supreme Leader in the Revolutionary Guards] welcomed him and explained the agenda of the meeting. I talked about Muharram, the plane crash, the council elections, and the issues of Iraq and the United States. I went to my office.

Mr. [Ali] Shamkhani [Minister of Defense] and [Seyyed Ali] Hosseini Tash, [head of the Defense Industries Training and Research Institute] came and said, "Mr. [Gholamreza] Aghazadeh, [head of the Atomic Energy Organization] will not be able to set up an enrichment system anytime soon, and it is likely that the [International Atomic Energy Agency] will not allow the injection of feed into the centrifuge without the signature of the [Additional Protocol] of 93+2, and the work will remain unfinished." Even if the 93+2 [Additional Protocol] is signed, we will be completely nailed. They believe that Mr. Khatami, [the President] and Mr. Aghazadeh have done political work by announcing that they have nuclear technology on the recommendation of Engineer [Mir Hossein] Mousavi. The solution was discussed.

Messrs. Naser Nouri and Ali Rahmani came and said that Dr. [Sadegh] Mahfouzi was in a lot of debts and that the treasure trove of antiquities that he had accumulated was in danger of being destroyed. They sought help to save him.

In the evening, the Board of Trustees of the Islamic Azad University had a meeting. We approved the establishment of several new university units, and it was decided to reform the salaries of university personnel, improve the level of management, and strengthen the authority of the units.

Saddam [Iraqi President Hussein] has said that he does not accept the order to destroy the Al-Samoud-2 missiles and is ready to have a televised debate with [US President] George W. Bush. The U.S. and Britain have accepted a delay in voting on a new resolution. France has said that it does not intend to use its veto power in these circumstances; it has previously said that it will use its veto power to dissent.

Sholeh Saadi, who felt safe from Mohsen Sazegara's release, returned to Iran and was arrested at Mehrabad airport, but their group, the National Coalition of Freedom Fighters, has nominated a candidate for the Tehran City Council, and Sazegara is also a candidate.

The head of the UN Human Rights Commission, which has been visiting Iranian prisons for 10 days, made negative comments in an interview. During these ten days, the foreign media had a lot of negative propaganda and a group of people gathered in front of the Laleh Hotel.
