Office work was done from seven thirty to nine in the morning. Dr. [Mustafa] Moin, [Minister of Culture and Higher Education], sent a phone call to Mr. [Mustafa] Mirslim, [President's Adviser on Research Affairs], complained about the disputed building, and vice versa, I referred the arbitration to Mr. [Hasan] Habibi, [First Vice President].

Mr. [Syed Mahmoud] Doa'i, [the director in charge of the information newspaper] came. He filed a complaint against Mr. [Noor Ali] Tabandeh, [leader of the Gonabadi dervish], that he was assaulted in Gonabad. He also asked for help for Yazd Hospital. Mr. [Jalil] Besharti, [Head of the Office of the Underprivileged Areas of the Presidency] came for the affairs of the underprivileged areas.

Mr. Mahluji and the managers of Mobarake Steel Company, [Mohammed Hossein] Adeli, [CEO of the Central Bank] and Mr. [Mohsen] Nourbakhsh, [Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance] came to Mobarake Steel's foreign exchange and riyal needs. I blamed them for not reaching the production according to the plan. We made an arrangement to solve the problems. They have not been given the required amount of currency.

The meeting of the general assembly of the telecommunication company was held with my presence. Mohsen was also there. It was decided to add one million telephone lines annually in the second five-year plan. The private sector should be allowed to operate and they should not ask for help from the government.

In the evening, the Expediency Council of the Armed Forces held a meeting for the scope of work of the judicial organization of the armed forces, which was against their wishes. They did not get anything. The assembly wanted to implement the provisions of the constitution.
