Complete text of the daily notes:

Brigadier General [Asadollah] Nasih, commander of the [Sayyid al-Shuhada (AS)] division, came along with the commanders of the brigades and the Karaj region. They have complaints against the Judiciary; they say Mr. [Hashemi] Shahroudi, [the head of the Judiciary], has formed a unit called the [Information] Protection of the Judiciary and has appointed a former gendarmerie officer as its commander. Another person, by special order from a judge, has plans to strike at Hezbollah of Karaj and the genuine revolutionary forces.

Some time ago, a businessman named Yousofi was kidnapped and was released after ten days following the payment of 600,000 dollars. Now, fingers are being pointed at some commanders of the IRGC and Basij in Karaj, and two individuals have been arrested. It has been rumored that other commanders will be arrested, creating a bad atmosphere in Karaj. They added that the case of Mr. [Hadi Montazeri] Moghaddam, the head of the Revolutionary Court of Karaj, who was recently convicted, is of the same nature. They said they have complained to the leadership but have not received any results and have requested a meeting with Mr. Shahroudi, who has not agreed.

Mr. Alireza Noori, [representative of Tehran], came. He said that his brother [Mr. Abdullah Noori, former Minister of Interior] is on leave. He asked me to follow up on his pardon and mentioned that the situation in Parliament has worsened; the members of the Participation Front have disagreements with Mr. [Mahdi] Karroubi, [the Speaker of Parliament], and do not allow him to play a mediating and reformist role.

Mr. Masih Mohajeri, [social advisor to the president and editor-in-chief of the newspaper “Jomhouri Eslami”], came. He wanted to be more informed about Iran’s policy regarding the future of Afghanistan and Palestine. He expressed dissatisfaction with the actions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the increasing presence of America and the West and was upset about the unresolved issue of his brother; he considers him oppressed.

A dispute has arisen between India and Pakistan over the issue of the attack on the Indian Parliament. India claims that Kashmiri militants supported by Pakistan are responsible for the attack and that Pakistan must deal with them or face the consequences. Pakistan has reacted to that threat and issued a counter-threat.

It has been announced that the Tora Bora region has been cleared of al-Qaeda forces, but clashes continue. In Kandahar Airport, which is occupied by the Americans, an explosion has injured several American forces. Western media have shown sensitivity regarding the leadership’s statements about Afghanistan and the Judiciary.
