I stayed at home and made arrangements by telephone regarding the companions on the trip to India and other matters. Mr Mohammad Mohammadi Reyshahrī consulted on the start of Mr Saadiq Qotbzadeh's trial. The Imam said it should be concluded sooner rather than later. Someone reported that they had uncovered a network intending to spend money to secure Qotbzadeh's release; I introduced the individual to Mr Reyshahrī for him to follow up.

I stayed at home and made arrangements by telephone regarding the companions for the trip to India and other matters. Mr [Mohammad Mohammadi] Reyshahri consulted me about the start of Mr [Sadeq] Qotbzadeh's trial. The Imam has said that it should be concluded sooner. Someone informed me that they had uncovered a network that intends to spend money to secure Qotbzadeh's release; I introduced them to Mr Reyshahri to have it investigated.

I read the reports at home. In the evening, Mr Hanaradost, the Deputy Minister of Petroleum, came and gave me information regarding the price of oil, production levels, and so on.

Mrs Shahid Beheshti came to our house, and along with Aftab, they went to visit the Imam's wife, who had gone abroad for a while for eye treatment. I wrote two forewords for two books: one on Shahid [Seyed Hassan] Ayat and the other on letters from and to the front line.
