I was at home all day. My main work was studying reports and catching up on tasks delayed by a few days of travel. They informed me that Mr. Abdel Halim Khaddam, Deputy President of Syria, had come to Iran and wanted to meet with me as well. The meeting was limited.

In the evening, Mr. [Ayatollah] Khamenei reported that he mainly came to mediate regarding our dealings with Saudi Arabia and requested that we do not attack Saudi ships in reciprocal policy. He also mentioned Fahd's claim about not cooperating with Iraq in targeting Syria, and the non-harm of detained pilgrims in Saudi Arabia, and finally, he obtained a pledge from Mr. [Ayatollah] Khamenei that the Saudi ships would not be attacked for the next two weeks.

In the afternoon, Dr. Rouhani came and reported on his trip and the situation of the London seminar. I briefed him on the current state of the war. In the evening, the Governor of Kerman came and reported on the situation and requested assistance in some matters. Mahdi and Mr. Rahmani called from the front. They are in good condition and engaged in training. They are preparing for future operations.
