The approval of a note revoking the expenditure of the remaining one hundred and sixty million rials on the renovation of the President's palace (the former Officers' Club) was interesting, but the Guardian Council voided the note on the grounds that no budget was envisioned for continuing the work. A note was also approved to eliminate secret budgets. (In the Presidium, there was serious debate and doubt regarding whether the Guardian Council had the right to oppose such matters; due to the government's need for this bill, we postponed the discussion to the future.)
