A group of people from the research group of the [Islamic Republic] party came and we discussed the criteria for accepting members and the Islamic way of research. They also came from the Imam's consulting office [in the army] and had reports about the affairs of the army.  I signed the mandate of Mr. Sadruddin Haeri Shirazi.

I went to the parliament at eight in the morning. We had a public meeting and the internal regulations of the parliament were discussed. In the afternoon [Mr. Ali Akbar Natiq Nouri], the Minister of Interior came and consulted about his work. In the evening, I had an interview with Zan Rooz magazine about the role and position of women in Islamic society.

The Soviet ambassador, whose term of service has ended, came to say goodbye and apologized for the encroachment of Russian helicopters from the border of Afghanistan to the border villages of Sistan and was grateful to us for not spreading the news. Our forces have announced that they shot down several of their helicopters. We have lost six martyrs and twenty wounded. It was claimed that they had crossed the border by mistake in order to suppress the Afghan Mujahideen.

The officials of the Polytechnic [current Amir Kabir] came and asked for help regarding the orderliness of university affairs. I met a group that came from the Western Front.

In the President's office, we had a consultation meeting with the Prime Minister and Mr. Mousavi Ardabili. Pakistan has asked for permission to pass its forces through a corner of our soil to go to another part of that country's soil. Fifteen kilometers pass through our land. Permission was granted.
