Memoirs of Akbar Hashemi – April 26, 1982

I studied until nine o'clock in the morning and then went to my office for meetings and administrative work. Some representatives came for their work. Most of the representatives in the meetings express their concern about the possibility of accepting a ceasefire and not punishing Saddam and Saddam's continued pressure on the Islamic revolutionary forces of Iraq.

In the afternoon, Mr. [Abd al-Karim] Mousavi Ardabili and Mr. [Syedhasan] Taheri Khorramabadi came and said, Ayatollah [Hossein Ali] Montazeri wants the Imam to be told to drop the issue of Mr. Shariatmadari and to be questioned about the case. Mr. [Mohammad Mohammadi] Rishahri also informed that in the re-interrogations, he made new confessions and accepted the payment of money to Mr. [Syed Mahdi] Mahdavi and the negotiation with Mr. [Abdul Reza] Hijazi.

Then I had a few meetings. Mr. [Mohsen] Rezaei, the commander of the IRGC, informed that our offensive operations will begin soon in the fronts of Ahvaz, Khorramshahr, Abadan and Karkheh Noor.
