In the public session of the parliament, two urgent plans to amend the election law were discussed. I was tired and bored; I left the meeting to Mr. Yazdi [Deputy Speaker of the Parliament] and came to my office. For Friday prayer sermons, I studied the history [life of Hazrat Musa Ibn Jafar (AS)] of the seventh Imam and did the office work.

In the afternoon, Imam Juma came to Nowshahr and expressed his displeasure with the result of the election. The employees of the Majlis printing house came and demanded to receive technical rights. The sister unit of the Islamic Republic Party came; I made breakfast for them.

The officials of Imam's representative offices in the IRGC came. Mr. [Fazlullah] Mahalati [Imam's representative in the IRGC] gave a report and I also spoke in detail. Mr. Dashti, the new representative of Dashtestan and the person responsible for organizing the World Congress of Imams, came and told his program; I was also scheduled to attend a meeting [in this congress]. Engineer Kashani, CEO of Jiroft dam construction, came and reported; He objected to my statements regarding the Lar Dam.

Mr. Mubasheri and Mr. Khazali came and talked about a person who was arrested. It turned out that this person is related to a sand [production] company whose main owners are fugitives.

At night, I had a meeting with [Mr. Ghazi al-Daroubi], the Syrian oil minister. He stated that they are in dire straits and wanted help in paying [the debt related to the purchase of] oil. He requested that a contract be repeated, similar to last year's contract, and the overdue debt of one billion dollars, half of which should be in the form of loans and half of which should be installments for the next year; Parliament's approval is required.
