I said that Sharjah should accept the restriction on bringing in foreigners. I criticized the non-cooperation of Saudi Arabia and the UAE in OPEC and increasing their oil production, which has caused the price of oil to fall.

In the evening Mr. Nawaz Sharif, the Prime Minister of Pakistan called on the phone. We discussed the issues of Afghanistan. He was supposed to stop in Iran on his way back from Europe; He apologized on the phone that he will not come. We want to send Dr. Velayati to Pakistan.

I attended the meeting of the government board. Mr. [Syed Mohammad] Khatami, [Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance], complained about the pressures coming against him through newspapers and Friday imams.
