Full diary entry:

Yesterday, the United Nations Security Council approved the resolution proposed by the United States. According to this, measures will be taken to freeze the accounts of those accused of terrorism or supporting terrorism, and economic pressures will be implemented. There is a possibility that Iran may be included as a supporter of Hezbollah [Lebanon] or [the] Islamic Jihad [of] Palestine.

The representatives of Kurdistan Province resigned in protest against the appointment of [Mr. Asadollah Razani], a non-local governor, but today the Parliament rejected it on the grounds that the regulations do not provide for collective resignations. It was said that everyone would resign individually. In Mazandaran, the Friday prayer leader has also protested the appointment of [Mr. Gholamreza Ansari], a non-local governor. The situation is similar in Kermanshah and some other areas.

[Hamid Ali Mohammadal-Tani], the new Sudanese ambassador, came to meet and requested that the issue of Sudan's debts to Iran, which has become an obstacle to the development of cooperation, be resolved in some way. He mentioned that their relations with Egypt have improved, but internal disputes remain.

Mr. [Aboulqasem] Hosseini came from Bojnurd and expressed the gratitude of the people of Bojnurd for the services during the Reconstruction Era – airport, petrochemicals, hospital, cement, dam, alumina, and infrastructure projects and rural development. He stated that no new projects have been added in the new government, similar to other provinces, but the preparations for building an oil refinery with foreign investment in Bojnurd and establishing a pipeline from the oil resources of Central Asia are underway, and he asked me to convey this to Mr. [Safar Murad] Niayazov, [President of Turkmenistan], to cooperate. He praised the recent Friday prayer sermons and said the members of Parliament believe that your talk has been coordinated with the leadership.

Mr. Masiha Mohajeri, [advisor to the President and editor-in-chief of the Islamic Republic newspaper], came and requested that I emphasize that after a one-month period, the detention order for [his brother], the head of the office of the first vice president, should not be renewed. In the evening, Mr. [Ali] Abdollahian, [Deputy of the Chamber of Commerce], came and said that the market and industries are experiencing stagnation and that your Friday sermon resolved many of the people's mental problems and clarified ambiguities. One of the researchers who came from America said he would send a message to the U.S. leaders to study this sermon carefully.

The conflict in Palestine has intensified. In the U.S., gradually restrictive regulations on freedoms are being passed, and today there were widespread protests in the U.S. and many other places against the war.
