Full Text of the Daily Journal:

The United States and Yasser Arafat, along with some Arab countries, have welcomed the proposal from Prince Abdullah, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, regarding Israel's withdrawal from the territories occupied in 1967 and the official recognition of Israel by the Arabs. However, it remains unclear what positions Syria and Israel hold; this is a significant development influenced by the current acute conditions, and it poses risks.

Hamid Karzai, the President of the Transitional Government of Afghanistan, who is in Iran with 13 ministers, has rejected America's statement claiming that Iran is obstructing the reconstruction of Afghanistan. Today, the U.S. military base at Kandahar airport was subjected to a missile attack. In Jerusalem and the occupied territories, Palestinians attacked Israeli military forces, injuring several individuals, in retaliation for Israel's recent attacks following the announcement of a ceasefire.

Israel fired upon the vehicle of its Speaker of Parliament and later issued an apology. The Israeli cabinet has decided to end the siege on Yasser Arafat's home, but he will remain under siege in Ramallah. Israel seeks to extradite those arrested for the murder of the tourism minister to Israel. Israeli President Moshe Katsav has invited the Saudi Crown Prince to Jerusalem to follow up on his proposal.

The organizing committee of the Alavi Behavior Seminar for the year of Ali (AS) visited. Dr. Mohammad Mahdi Mazaheri provided a report. They requested me to inaugurate the seminar, but the guards stated that since we have another program that day, they cannot secure both events.

Masoud Safari, the editor-in-chief of Hayat-e-No newspaper, and Jafar Homaei, CEO of Ney Publishing, came to consult on the publication of "Beyond the Accusation," the memoirs of Abbas Amir-Entezam, the former Deputy Prime Minister of the provisional government under Mehdi Bazargan. I remarked that it would upset both the left and the right and contains incomplete narratives, yet it is also part of the history of the early days following the victory of the revolution.

Mohammad Ali Shar'i, the head of the women's seminary, and Seyyed Hashem Hosseini Bushehri, the head of the Qom seminary, praised the sermons from the Eid al-Adha prayers over the phone and requested a speech at the assembly for the dispatch of preachers for Muharram. In the evening, Mohsen Rezai, Secretary of the Expediency Council, came to report on his trip to Europe and discussed the council and the threat of a U.S. attack.
