Mr. Ali Abedzadeh, the Managing Director of Aseman Airlines, came to report on the Supreme Court's opinion regarding the airplane crash case [Isfahan - Tehran], which is not in his favor. He stated that Mr. Ahmad Reza Kazemi, the Managing Director of Iran Air, has not performed well, and Mr. Rahman Dadman is doing better than Mr. Mahmoud Hojjati at the Ministry of Labor. He thanked me for my support of him.

Mr. Morteza Rostami, a photographer from the Ministry of Culture and Arts before the revolution, arrived. He mentioned that he had valuable photos that the Ministry of Intelligence had taken and requested their return.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Hussein Al-Ahmed, the President of the Yemeni Parliament, and his companions came. One of the clerics was also present. He expressed gratitude for Iran's support of the Palestinians and criticized the Arab states for their lack of assistance.

In the afternoon, Sheikh Mohammed bin Ibrahim bin Jubeir, the President of the Consultative Council of Saudi Arabia, came. I said that if this is the case, oil-rich countries could claim even more damages than they do.

Mr. Saleem Zaanoun, the President of the Palestinian Authority Parliament, came to visit. He reported that former U.S. President Bill Clinton, during the last Camp David meeting, told Yasser Arafat that following his rejection of unilateral proposals, there would be increased pressures on the Palestinians in the next U.S. administration, similar to what Ariel Sharon is currently doing. He discussed the peace negotiations and the Arab policy following Gamal Abdel Nasser's presidency, as well as the challenges that Hamas and Islamic Jihad present to Arafat's policies, and acknowledged that they are disillusioned with the peace agreements. I suggested that it would be beneficial for them to adopt a unified policy. I proposed a sister-city relationship between Jerusalem and Tehran and the establishment of an Islamic fund to assist Palestine. He mentioned that Arab states had only contributed $40 million in aid and presented samples of his poetry, stating he is a powerful poet. He suggested that Tehran should assist in cooperation between Syria and the Palestinian Authority, mentioning that Hezbollah's victory in Lebanon was possible due to Iran's help. The conference supporting the Intifada concluded, and a final statement was issued. Overall, it was well organized.

The Board of Trustees of Azad University held a meeting in my office with several resolutions. News of a murder by Mohsen Fallahian, the son of former Minister of Intelligence Ali Fallahian, was published in today’s newspapers. Fallahian issued a statement claiming that a group had attacked his son, who defended himself. That night, I called Mr. Fallahian to inquire, and he said that law enforcement and the court had determined that the attackers were criminals and that his son Mohsen had acted in self-defense, but the news had been maliciously spread.
