Full Text of the Daily Memo:

[Mr. Dato Mohammad Khalis], the Ambassador of Malaysia, came for a farewell meeting. The conversation revolved around the necessity of developing relations. A group of members of the Academy of Medical Sciences arrived, including Dr. [Iraj] Fazel, Dr. [Ali] Nobakht, and Dr. [Reza] Malekzadeh, who expressed their displeasure with the appointment of [Mr. Massoud] Pezeshkian as the new Minister of Health and Treatment. They mentioned that [Mr. Mohammad] Khatami, [the President], had asked for their opinions but acted contrary to their views. They also criticized the stagnation in operations, particularly the poor condition of hospitals and universities, and asked me to engage in continuing the policies of moderation and development. They requested the establishment of a research center to preserve talented and scholarly individuals. They invited me to attend the inauguration of their new building, which was constructed with the help of the Development Government.

Dr. [Mehdi] Akbarzadeh, a researcher in agricultural chemistry, came and asked me to convey his message to [Mr. Mahmoud] Hojjati, the Minister of Agriculture.

In the afternoon, [Niaz Hossein] Naqvi came with a group of Pakistani students and brought a sample of my book "Social Justice," which has been translated and published in Urdu. They said it has considerable demand. We also discussed the translation of the Encyclopedia of Cultural Quran. One of them is the Imam of Shiites in Denmark. Additionally, they expressed their concern about the weakening of Shiism in Pakistan and their expectation for more support from the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Last night and today, the water in the eastern and northeastern parts of Tehran has become muddy. The Ministry of Energy states that due to a decrease in water levels behind the Karaj and Latiyan dams, the jet gates have been opened, allowing muddy water to flow in, and some of the treatment plants are unable to purify the muddy water.
